The Orchard at Carneros Resort and Spa

Travel Tips

Owners will surely appreciate that The Orchard’s location in the Carneros region results in a more temperate climate than most of Wine Country. The days are warm and sunny throughout the year, yet the temperature remains cooler than much of Napa, where the heat can be overbearing.

At night and in the early morning the temperature tends to cool as winds and fog from the San Pablo and San Francisco Bays find their way through the region. This refreshing change in temperature is what makes the land so valuable for vintners, as it allows the abundant pinot noir and chardonnay grapes to remain damp and cool even when the morning sun returns. As residents enjoy another pristine day, the grapes maintain a lower temperature and slowly ripen to perfection.
